Dulany Residence [addition and renovation – completed 2012*] project with Daniel E. Snyder, Architect, P.C.

This mid-nineteenth century house, in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, offers a restrained beauty of proportion and simplicity of materials: a mass of machined brick and generations of black iron.  The contemporary intervention playfully subverts this mass by slipping a pool under it and reinterprets the surrounding natural imagery in cnc-milled steel.

* Arabeit Studio will complete the final phased item, the cnc-milled, folded-plate steel rear porch system as it was designed. This is currently in fabrication.
